When you have a stressful day or just feel off, go outside and take your shoes and socks/hose off.
Earthing is a great way to find some balance while relieving stress! It refers to the simple act of making contact with the Earth’s surface electrons by walking or standing outside barefoot. As adults, we don't get as much barefoot time like we did as kids. Research is starting to show how this is affecting our health and wellbeing and studies are being conducted to show how Earthing helps our bodies. According to an article from The National Center for Biotechnology Information(NCBI), “Emerging scientific research supports the concept that the Earth's electrons induce multiple physiological changes of clinical significance, including reduced pain, better sleep, a shift from sympathetic to parasympathetic tone in the autonomic nervous system (ANS), and a blood-thinning effect.”
So, having a stressful day or just feel off? Go outside and take your shoes and socks/hose off.
Then just stand still and feel the Earth.
Wiggle your toes! Feel the tickle of the blades of grass. Feel the coolness of the dirt.
Do you feel the Earth’s pulse?
Take a few slow, deep breaths.
Now take another deep breath. On the exhale, I want you to push your stress down to your stomach and form a ball there with it.
PUSH ALL OF YOUR STRESS down into this ball.
Now take another deep breath. On the exhale, I want you to push the ball down your legs, out of your feet and into the Earth.
Now take a few more slow deep breaths.
This is great to do during lunch or on break. It can take as few as 2 minutes or as long as you wish. Try it! You'll be amazed how this simple act can make a difference in your day.
